Hayate is known for his quality video guides with tought-out script, nice visuals and informative screens. But this time, he overdid even himself. The way how his Hwang guide is made set new highest standard for FG guides!
I mean, you really should look at this video guide even if you are not interested in Hwang. Hell, you should watch it even if you don’t play SoulCalibur as the way it is made can be applied to any FG!
One of the great parts of this guide is the fact you are provided with the key information not only by voice, but by visuals as well. It is done to such degree that you don’t even need to listen to Hayate to get the core information (though cut down by any details). This is great if you are rewatching the video for reminders, where you can just quickly scroll through and still get all important things served at silver plate.
And this goes far beyond what you will expect. I mean, this is single most informative screen I saw in a long time when it comes to FG character guides:
Both as a player and as an opponent, this gives me great overview of Hwangs playstyle that is easy to understand and remember. Complemented by several additional screens that appears through the How To Play section, the character core gameplan and the ways he have to execute it are made clear in a way that will normally – without such strong visual support – will be much harder to digest.
PS: I’m not a fanboy, I just really love how this guide is tought-out, made and presented. The amount of work and time Hayate must have put into is probably insane, but it really pay out, at least in my book.
