Before Covid-19, there used to be online and offline events going on all the time. And now..? Now we have like a dozen or more online events weakly. Plus monthlies, exhibitions… It’s kinda hard to keep up, right? Well, not anymore. Now it’s quite easy, barely an inconvenience – because of SC Event Calendar.

Before you will read further – yes, my intent is to promote the calendar. I truly believe this is the most prominent feature SC community needs, especially now; and I kinda feel many people are not realizing why it is so important and how it is beneficial to us all.

When I started SCPortal, Event Calendar was on the top of my priorities. In my book, this one of most important features to have – and the single most important one that was completely missing globally.

Why To Calendar?

It was basically impossible to keep track about all the action that was (and is) going on. And I was not alone. Many events were falling under the radar of players who will love to attend, or to watch. This was not new issue, but because of covid-19 and all ongoing lock-downs, it become much more imminent and troublesome.

Luckily for us, TheAppleBoom took care of this. Thanks to her effort, we have ever-expanding Google calendar of SC events. I am very grateful for this, as it is not an easy task to keep it up to date!

This calendar is integrated into SCPortal in two forms – as Event Calendar and as List of Upcoming Events. Both are completely same, they are but a different views of the same calendar.

To Cherish What We Have

Now we have the calendar – and AppleBoom updating it – we should also make use of it. We should use it, keep it up to date, and spread the word.

  1. Use the Submit Event form here on SCPortal
  2. In Twitter announcement, tag @TheAppleBoom so she can add it
  3. Create event in Google Calendar and invite eventsofthesoul@gmail.com
  4. Join SCPortal Discord and share tips for interesting posts, videos, tournaments or other resources there

To spread the word, keep sharing the calendar links once in a while. You can mention them on your streams or in your tweets; you can share the simple link above. It is minimal effort that can benefit us all.
