There is a good chance you did not hear about Jacksalien before, but this will change now. This Dominican Azwel player is one of the top LatAm players – and probably also one of the top Azwel mains overall!

Country: Dominican republic
If you had to introduce yourself in three sentences to some SoulCalibur player who didn’t know you, what would you say?
I am jacksalien, an azwell Main. I am from the Dominican Republic. I have been active since sc1. I am characterized by being very competitive.
What is the origin or meaning of your nickname?
My nickname is derived from:
- Salien = alien saliva.
- Jack = wrestling fighter from my country.
To be honest I made it up in a chat we had and I thought it was funny
How did it happen that you ended up playing fighting games?
I started playing fighting games from the SNES when I saw killer instinct for the first time. Later I was able to get my hands on KOF 97 and later on Dreamcast sc1.
The challenge and the desire to show that you have a better game and that you are on the path to being a good player. It makes winning a fight feel better than finishing an RPG or an indie
Who do you main in SC6 and why?
I chose my Main AZWELL for several reasons:
- he looks a lot like necrid from sc2 that I was an extreme fan of that pj
- I like bosses
- finally his very varied fighting style and that I can change the game as I change weapons is unbeatable
What is your opinion regarding SC6?
My opinion about Soulcalibur 6 is that for me it is the most complete game and the most resources that there is currently. No rookie will come here wanting to beat you by spamming a “broken” move or a super move that takes all of your life. you have to have a lot of knowledge and strategy
If you could change one single thing about SC6 what would that be?
Changing something from sc6 would be some stages that are too small and can easily RO you. I prefer the big stages
What do you consider to be your greatest SC6 achievement and why?
My greatest achievement in sc6 was…
Well, I did not have a good time trying to enter the tournaments since access was restricted and I was not invited … But, the FGC fightclub supported me and gave me the opportunity to enter their tournaments.
So I also started supporting them and looking for and inviting players so they could enter. The community managed to get bigger and more active. Then they took us Dominicans more into account for the support of the tournaments, donations to them, and the active participation that we had in them.
Please answer a single question that you were not asked but you would like to answer!
At this current moment, the community is divided. Some consider me a villain while others consider me a good pro player.
I consider myself just a guy who likes to compete and likes to challenge. There are people who are bothered by being challenged. For my part, it is my way of saying that I like the game and that being competitive is my way of meeting great players.
Thank you for the interview!
