If you had to introduce yourself in three sentences to some SoulCalibur player who didn’t know you, what would you say?

My name is Ssylus, I’m a Raphael main in SC6. Live in Scotland, Glasgow! Been playing SC since 2012 started with SCV. I’m the guy who rings people out and puts them on twitter!

What is the origin or meaning of your nickname?

Nothing special about my name really. I was always really bad coming up with names so I asked my sister and she suggested: Ssylus and I’ve just never changed it since.

How did it happen that you ended up playing fighting games?

I’m kinda late to the SC series, I started back in 2012 just after SCV came out. I was on youtube watching CS:GO videos. Came across a SCV CaS video by FahrosTTTT I thought it looked interesting so I had a look, liked how in depth and how much you could create your own character so I bought the game the next day and I’ve not been able to stop playing since! ^^

Who do you main in SC6 and why?

I main Raphael. He has some of the best LHs in the game (46 series) and for almost every situation. Also love his high demand of time and execution needed to play Raph at a high level, I’ve always kinda went towards the hard to play characters, just makes the win all the sweeter imo ^^

What is your opinion regarding SC6?

We need Rollback the online in this game is meh. Tracking verticals is probably the most frustrating thing about the game. Especially as a Raph main who relys on characters whiffing… But! still enjoy playing the game. Love how different each character is and different levels of execution/time demanded to play certain characters.

If you could change one single thing about SC6 what would that be?

Bring back Brave Edges for all characters! I miss that most of all from SCV 🙁

What do you consider to be your greatest SC6 achievement and why?

Was back in the early days of SC6. A tournament in New Castle I believe it was. Andy, Carp, Danurai, Branstar, Iona Rose and myself went to. I was having a good run until I ran into Andyroo who put me in losers. But I managed to run through losers and beat Carp then reset the bracket and took the win from Andyroo! ^^
