Birth Year: 1998
Country: Malaysia
If you had to introduce yourself in three sentences to some SoulCalibur player who didn’t know you, what would you say?
Hey, I’m Neon. I was the main guy you go to if you play SoulCalibur in Malaysia! I wasn’t the best but I was always there for everyone!
What is the origin or meaning of your nickname?
Well originally I had a different IGN it was called LeBiscuit (I loved biscuits), but after watching Mushi (Malaysian Dota Legend) he gave me a sense of hope… or faith as you may 😉 I wanted to be that source of faith in my country, so thus as bright as a neon sign, NeonFaith was born.
How did it happen that you ended up playing fighting games?
Well it all started with DBFZ, I was a big fan of dragon ball and when a new game came out I had to try it, It was incredibly hard for a newbie and I fell in love with the difficulty, the rush you feel when u finally land that combo you’ve been labbing. Mmmhh sweet bliss.
Who do you main in SC6 and why?
I main Yoshimitsu! I originally was a Nightmare main (sorry lads), but as a very goofy person IRL, I gravitated to Yoshitmitsu’s janky playstyle and never looked back after each suicide kill 🙂
What is your opinion regarding SC6?
I love the game! I can’t really comment on the balance on it because I havent played the older games and I don’t really have a strong opinion on it. I feel like if you’re good enough, you can overcome any obstacle.
If you could change one single thing about SC6 what would that be?
I think I would remove RE, it was a fun feature, but it really doesn’t serve alot of purpose. It helps lower the entry difficulty but that isn’t nessecarilly good in a fighting game, but that’s just my opinion 🙂
What do you consider to be your greatest SC6 achievement and why?
I could sit here and talk about the tournaments I won, but honestly I feel like forming a small community in my country from scratch. The friends I made along the way and the memories are irreplacable, the trophys and wins don’t matter if it wasn’t for the friends I made along the way 🙂
Please answer a single question that you were not asked but you would like to answer!
My favourite memory related to SoulCalibur.
My favourite memory will always be hanging out with the friends I made at evo japan, we had a great time in tokyo and I will always cherish those moments.
Thank you for the interview!
