Style:
Heavy
Difficulty:
Basic
Summary:
Good range and plenty of stances make for a very well-rounded kit despite lacking standard fast AA/BB type attacks. Dark Legacy gives extra lethal hits and attacks when low on health and makes for ludicrous comeback potential.
Description:
Featuring some of the fastest and most diverse moves of all the heavy style characters, Siegfried has a huge complement of pokes and stance mix-ups to devastate the enemy. He has dozens of transitions into his four main stances that allow him to evade attacks and keep up pressure, and his great range allows him to keep out a lot of the stickier rushdown characters. Despite his size and armor, his stance transitions also allow him to swiftly evade some enemy punishes. When low on health or after gaining points using his CE or special hand attacks he enters Dark Legacy, which gives him some of the best comeback potential in the game with easy to land lethal hits and a big aGI panic attack. Despite all this he is still very unsafe on block when the enemy blocks or guesses correctly, and his up-close fast options are limited.
Strengths:
- high damage
- good mix-ups out of stances
- devastating comeback potential in Dark Legacy
Weaknesses:
- generally unsafe on most attacks
- weak punishment on faster attacks (i12 – i14)
- slow backstep and movement outside of stances
Unique mechanic:
Siegfried uses his corrupted arm’s power and enters Dark Legacy upon reaching low health (30% in the yellow portion) or upon reaching 12 DL stacks. He gains one stack for using 6A+B (muh hand!), two for a successful GI with 6A+B, and 6 for landing his Critical Edge. With enough stacks he can activate by either using 6A+B or holding down the input while doing CE. In Dark Legacy 6A+B becomes a powered up version of Nightmare’s energy bubble aGI, and he gains new lethal hits and an upgraded version of FC 3KK.
