Zoner

Difficulty:
Basic

Summary:
Simple but effective long range attacks control space with some great mix-up potential even fighting up close, but still struggles to keep up in a close-range brawl. Huge ring out potential.

Description:
Don’t let the bubby demeanor fool you–Mina is ready to ready to ride her way to a “super easy” victory with long range and ring out potential. After landing hits she can continue her offense with great oki and powerful guard pressure. She also has great ring out game and can potentially convert many combo starters into a ring out with a host of combo enders. As is fitting for her playstyle, her fast i12 through i16 attacks are quite weak in damage and frame advantage and she will struggle to peel off faster characters that want to get in and brawl. Strong crouch punish and aGI tools make this possible, but are risky to use.

Strengths:

  1. long range
  2. strong ring out game
  3. powerful Soul Charge

Weaknesses:

  1. lots of key moves are unsafe on block or whiff
  2. weak fast and close range attacks
  3. limited block punishment

Unique mechanic:
Most of Mina’s attacks gain different properties for landing at tip range (basically if the enemy is hit with the bladed tip rather than the shaft of the polearm). Tip hits generally have better frames and on-hit properties, and in some cases even lethal hits.
