Style:
Mixups

Difficulty:
Intermediate

Summary:
Lots of stance pressure and mix-ups can potentially convert hits into big damage with meter burn attacks. Limited range and approach attacks.

Description:
The Tekken and Soulcalibur dual-series trickster is back with a plethora of stance mix-ups and fast attacks. Complementing his offense is the ability to power up a lot of normal attacks by spending part of his meter, similar to the Soulcalibur V Brave Edge mechanic, and many of his attacks steal meter as well. He excels at applying close range pressure either from his three main stances or even mixing between his 3B mid launcher and FC 3K low launcher. His range is very short and this is exacerbated by very limited approaching attacks, meaning careful spacing and neutral game is important before he can establish his dominant offense. With teleports and potential game-winning suicide attacks he has some very tricky attacks but they don’t make for an integral part of his kit.

Strengths:

  1. constant mix-up potential
  2. strong ring out potential, including reverse ring outs with 4A A+B
  3. good fast attacks including an i10 AA

Weaknesses:

  1. short range
  2. limited approach moves
  3. weak A+B and other break attacks

Unique mechanic:
Certain attacks and strings can be powered up by spending one to two segments of meter. Similarly Yoshimitsu steals meter when landing certain attacks, and also has lethal hits for hitting the enemy when they have full meter.
