If you had to introduce yourself in three sentences to some SoulCalibur player who didn’t know you, what would you say?

Greetings, I’m Seyfer, a not so casual/competitive player of SoulCalibur VI and content creator from Argentina. I play a lot of SoulCalibur VI and upload most of my fights to my YouTube channel. I like watching streams of SCVI from all around the world.

What is the origin or meaning of your nickname?

An antagonist character in the game Final Fantasy VIII was named Seifer. I liked that name and also both Seifer and I share the same love for fishing, so I took the name and changed the “i” to a “y” because it looked cooler that way.

How did it happen that you ended up playing fighting games?

To tell the truth, I don’t play fighting games in general. I only play Soul Calibur and that’s due to the “8-way run” movement that other fighting games don’t have. I knew Soul Blade from the days of the PS1 but only in 2008 I got SCIII and my fascination with the saga began. Since then I have played all the games that have come out (SCIV, SCV and of course SCVI) and the previous ones as well (SC and SCII).

Who do you main in SC6 and why?

Currently I play with Taki, Talim, Hilde and Setsuka but I perform best with Taki so I guess she is my main. I’ve played with Taki and Setsuka since SCIII (Natsu and Alpha Patroklos in SCV), Hilde since SCV and started with Talim in SCVI. There isn’t a particular reason for these selections, I simply like their fighting styles.

What is your opinion regarding SC6?

I consider SoulCalibur VI an excellent game. Obviously it’s not perfect but I think the amount of good things outweighs the amount of bad things by far.

If you could change one single thing about SC6 what would that be?

The list is long but being punctual for a better gaming experience and even more so now in times of pandemic where online play rules, I would ask for an improvement of the netcode. This would not only improve the online experience but it would also attract more players.

What do you consider to be your greatest SC6 achievement and why?

That is probably the SoulCalibur Without Borders but not because of the position reached in the tournament but because I was invited to participate in an event coordinated by the different SoulCalibur communities of the world and having been able to face very good players in it.

Please answer a single question that you were not asked but you would like to answer!

Do your soul still burn?

I don’t like Okubo’s phrase “The Soul Still Burns”. I think that “the” soul will always burn so I prefer the phrase “The Legend Will Never Die…”

Thank you for the interview!
