Style:
Balanced

Difficulty:
Basic

Summary:
Excellent pokes control neutral while stances and powerful lows continue pressure. Lacks strong horizontal attacks, and many main attacks are unsafe.

Description:
Still in search of Soul Edge or just a good fight, this version of Mitsurugi features a bit less of a basic playstyle from past games and has more stance transitions and strings required to keep his offense going. He still has excellent neutral tools and a very diverse kit, but also suffers from being unsafe on most of his attacks and as such he rewards strong reads and effective use of his stances. His Soul Charge in particular has very powerful damaging launchers that will also get him launched if blocked or stepped.

Strengths:

  1. long range/strong neutral pokes
  2. strong lows
  3. strong backstep

Weaknesses:

  1. limited horizontal pokes
  2. many unsafe attacks
  3. very slow sidestep

Unique mechanic:
After landing his Critical Edge or certain attacks in a round, Mitsu powers up with Shura Blade, giving him access to new attacks including a very powerful i12 knockdown mid in 236B+K. The buff only lasts until the end of the round.
